Flooring Installation in Mount Pleasant and Charleston, SC

Flooring is where Floor It And More started — and after 15 years and over 1,000 projects, it is still one of the things we do best. We install hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, tile, and more throughout homes in Mount Pleasant, Charleston, Daniel Island, Summerville, Isle of Palms, Sullivan’s Island, and surrounding areas.

New floors change a home more than almost any other single upgrade. They affect how light moves through a room, how the whole house feels, and how buyers perceive value. We take the installation seriously — because the best flooring product in the world only performs as well as the installation underneath it.

We Install Various Types Of Flooring

Hardwood Flooring

There is nothing quite like real hardwood. We install solid and engineered hardwood in a range of species, stains, and finishes. Engineered hardwood handles the humidity in the Charleston area better than solid hardwood in most applications — we will help you understand the difference and choose what makes sense for your home.

Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP)

LVP has become one of the most popular flooring choices for good reason. It is durable, water-resistant, and looks remarkably close to hardwood at a significantly lower cost. It is also a strong choice for homes with pets, kids, or high-traffic areas. Installation precision matters — loose seams, uneven subfloor prep, and poor transitions undermine the finished look. We install LVP the right way.

Tile Flooring

Tile is the right choice for bathrooms, kitchens, mudrooms, and entryways. We handle ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone tile, including complex patterns and large-format tiles that require careful cutting and leveling. Our tile work is the same team that does our bathroom renovations — which means a high standard on every job.

Quality Installation

Why Quality Installation Matters

A lot of people think of flooring as a product decision. It is also an installation decision — and the installation often matters more. A high-end hardwood floor installed on a poorly prepped subfloor will squeak, shift, and cup. LVP laid without proper acclimation will expand and buckle. Tile set without proper leveling will crack at the grout lines.

We have been doing this for 15 years. We know the prep steps that most installers skip. We never skip a stap— because the goal is a floor that looks good and performs well for years, not just on move-in day.

Flooring installation FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of flooring works best in the Charleston area?

Humidity is a real factor here. Solid hardwood can expand and contract significantly in humid coastal climates. Engineered hardwood and LVP are more stable options for most Lowcountry homes. Tile is always a great choice for wet areas and high-traffic spaces. We will walk you through the pros and cons of each option for your specific home.

Most single-room installations are completed in one to two days. A whole-home flooring replacement typically takes three to five days, depending on square footage and flooring type. We will give you a realistic timeline before we start.

We recommend clearing the rooms before we arrive. For larger or heavier pieces, we can talk through options during the estimate visit.

It depends on the condition of the existing floor and the type of flooring going in. We assess this during the estimate visit. In some cases, removing the old floor is the right move — in others, it is not necessary.

Care instructions vary by flooring type. We walk you through everything when the job is done — what products to use, what to avoid, and how to keep the floor looking its best for years.
